Most of us remember the Shugart and later the Seagate Disk Drives that were integrated in the NCR computers after the company entered dynamically the new era of computing in 1970s.

Well, founder of the historic Shugart Associates and later Seagate Technology was Alan F. Shugart who started his career with IBM as a Field Engineer.

Alan F. Shugart died last Tuesday at the age of 76.
